A week ago, a passenger car collided head-on with a truck on the Leuvensesteenweg in Boortmeerbeek. The driver of the car was briefly in danger of dying, but survived the impact. It now appears that the driver of the car was 18-year-old professional football player Frederic Soelle Soelle.

The exact cause of the accident remains unclear. According to eyewitnesses, the truck did not make any incorrect steering movements. He later also tested negative for alcohol and drugs and was taken to hospital for evaluation.

The passenger of the car was in worse condition. His life was in danger for a moment, but he survived the blow. It now appears that the driver was Frederic Soelle Soelle (18). He suffered several fractures from the accident.

Soelle Soelle enjoyed his youth training at KV Mechelen, but moved to RWDM last winter. He also plays for the Belgian U19. Last weekend he was not in the selection for the match in Kortrijk. It is unclear exactly how long he will be out.
