After Gyrano Kerk – substituted for Jurgen Ekkelenkamp – did not see his cross converted into a goal, the score was 0-2 at the other end. The Dane Andreas Skov Olsen cut down defender Soumaïla Coulibaly and shot into the left corner.

A penalty brought Antwerp back into the match in the 67th minute. This was preceded by a foul by Joel Ordóñez on Michel Ange Balikwisha. Ange Balikwisha passed Club goalkeeper Simon Mignolet from the spot: 1-2.

Owen Wijndal played the entire match for Antwerp, Vincent Janssen stayed behind in the dressing room after the break. At Brugge, Bjorn Meijer had to leave with an injury shortly before half-time.
