This cozy café is located on the ground floor of OPEK, the cultural site at the Vaartkom in Leuven, and has a large terrace where you can sit very comfortably. I’m especially a fan of the nachos, but the ever-changing tapas offering is also highly recommended! You won’t really sunbathe on the terrace, because it is in the shade in the evening. But the nice atmosphere makes up for it all.’

Editor-in-chief Eva: ‘Ever since I felt a ray of sunshine, you can find me at Café Kamiel. I call it a bit of an extension of our garden, because it is within walking distance. A big advantage here is that there is a playground and park, making it a nice place to go with my daughter. She makes friends in the playground, we drink an organic rosé on the terrace. Win win! The nice thing is that we almost always spot someone we know there. On Thursday it is spaghetti evening and then it is great fun to join us on the terrace. Bolognaise or veggie à volonté with a glass of red wine and I feel like I’m on holiday. A mini vacation then.’

Although the entrance is a bit hidden in the Nauwstraat, the terrace is completely open, with a view of the Dijle. In summer it is wonderful to relax in the evening sun, which shines on the terrace until the very last moment.
