Ivago now collects the PMD bag in the city center every week, and no longer every two weeks. The waste collector adjusted the scheme because the waste piles up faster now that more is allowed in the blue bag.
More and more waste is allowed in the PMD bag, which means that Ghent residents’ waste accumulates more quickly. Collector Ivago then decided to adjust their arrangement and has been collecting PMD waste weekly since April 1.

The adjustment only applies to residents who live in ‘the bag zone’, the area in Ghent where they collect residual waste in bags, not in containers. Anyone living in the ‘container zone’ outside the city center must continue to put out their blue bag every two weeks.
Ivago has also adjusted the size of the PMD bags. In the past, there were two types of volumes in circulation: one of 30 liters and one of 75 liters. Since April 1, there are three: one of 30, 60 and 90 liters.
The smaller 30-liter bag can now be used by every resident of Ghent. This used to be reserved for people living in apartments with collection containers. The price has remained low. A 30 liter PMD bag costs you 13 euro cents, for 60 liters you pay 25 cents and for 90 liters 30 cents.
