The Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon is in its 19th edition this year and features an attractive and renewed course with start and finish in the heart of the capital of Europe. A route in which the heart and soul of Brussels is completely exposed.

Just like last year, the marathon and half marathon will start on De Brouckèreplein. The participants then first do a nice loop through the center.

After passing through the center, the half marathon runners continue their run through the city. The marathon runners dive into the Annie Cordy tunnel to access the green lungs in and around Brussels via the monumental Basilica of Koekelberg: the Ganshoren Marsh and the various parks of Jette.

Both distances converge on the same route on the Heysel Plateau, where runners can enjoy a beautiful view of the Atomium and the Castle of Laeken.

A series of new highlights will follow in the second part of the route, although some passages will feel very familiar to fans of the event. This gives runners the unique opportunity to walk along the iconic Lambermontlaan with its stately mansions before heading towards Cinquantenaire Park.

Save the best for last? That promise will be fully fulfilled this year with an arrival in the center of the city. For the first time in a long time. What the exact route looks like and where exactly the finish is will be announced on June 3.

The Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon offers something for the entire sporty family. In addition to the traditional distances of the marathon and half marathon, there is also a fast 7 km in the center of the capital and a Persil Kids Run 1K on the program.

“THIS TRACK BREATHS BRUSSELS AND SHOWS OUR CAPITAL AT ITS BEST”

“We are extremely happy and proud to be able to bring the Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon again to the historic heart of the city,” says Thomas Huyberechts of organizer Golazo. “This route breathes Brussels and shows our capital at its best. We are really looking forward to welcoming thousands of runners from all corners of the world to Brussels.”

Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport: “This year, the Brussels Airport Marathon once again offers a unique course, where the center of Brussels is away from the runners for a while! Every year I look forward to seeing on site how this event brings together athletes of all levels and backgrounds. With the different distances, this is an event that everyone can participate in, or is welcome to support and experience the atmosphere. Bringing people together for a fun sporting experience and at the same time letting them enjoy our beautiful capital, a mission that we at Brussels Airport fully support!”

NEW DATE

This year, the Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon has been given a new place on the calendar. Because of many manifestations this autumn, including the Pope’s visit, November 3 was chosen as the date in consultation with the security services.
