Slovakia, the Red Devils’ first opponent at the European Championship in Germany, drew 1-1 against Norway in a practice match on Tuesday evening.

The Norwegians took the lead after eighteen minutes in the Ullevaalstadion in Oslo through Alexander Sorloth (ex-AA Gent). Shortly after the break, Erling Haaland had an excellent opportunity to put the Norwegians up 2-0, but Manchester City’s top striker saw his penalty saved by goalkeeper Marek Rodak.

Slovakia equalized in the 87th minute through substitute Ondrej Duda. Patrik Hrosovsky (KRC Genk) started in central midfield for the Slovaks and was allowed to rest shortly before the hour mark.

Slovakia is Belgium’s first opponent in Group E on June 17. Both countries meet in Frankfurt.

Romania loses to Colombia

Romania, Belgium’s opponent at the European Championship in Germany, lost 2-3 to Colombia in a practice match on Tuesday evening.

John Cordoba (6.) and Jhon Arias (36.) gave Colombia a 0-2 lead in the Estadio Cívitas Metropolitano, the home of Atlético Madrid. After the break, Yasser Asprilla (80.) scored for the 0-3. Romania came back with goals from former Genk player Ianis Hagi (84.) and Florin Tanase (90.+3), but the equalizer was not forthcoming.

Razvan Marin (ex-Standard) and Nicolae Stanciu (ex-Anderlecht) started in Romania.

Romania will be Belgium’s second opponent in group E on June 22. Both countries will meet in Cologne.
