The Champions’ Play-Offs are exactly halfway through and it is RSC Anderlecht that is currently leading the standings. But to actually become champion, RSCA will still have to overcome some dangerous hurdles. And for that, coach Brian Riemer will receive some important weapons.

Just when the title battle is in full swing, the Purple & White are having to deal with a lot of injuries. For example, Thogan Hazard’s season is already over after he suffered a serious injury in the home match against Union SG. And on Wednesday it became even busier in the infirmary after the match against Cercle Brugge.

Danes breathe a sigh of relief

Anders Dreyer had scored in the first half, but then dropped out with what appeared to be a muscle injury. Kasper Schmeichel remained in the changing rooms during halftime and was replaced by Colin Coosemans. The goalkeeper reportedly suffered from groin pain.

However, Purple-White can breathe a sigh of relief for a few days. It was announced on Friday that the damage to the two Danes is relatively limited, they could certainly still play for their club this season. Whether they will be there in the return match against Cercle on Sunday remains to be seen.

Yari almost back

But Riemer may then recover another important weapon. So reports The last news that Yari Verschaeren is close to his comeback. The playmaker injured his hamstrings in the last match of the regular competition and has been sidelined ever since.

However, Verschaeren can now train with the group again. If he is no longer bothered, the youth product will make his comeback to the selection against Cercle. If not, he will certainly be back within a week for the clash against Union. A big boost given Hazard’s injury and uncertainty surrounding Dreyer.
