Wout Faes took some time to talk to the press on Friday evening in Dublin. He was asked if he knew which player got the most minutes for the Red Devils under Domenico Tedesco.

“I know, I am,” he replies with a big smile. “I wouldn’t call it a surprise. It is a very big difference with the previous coach. I am very happy with his confidence now.”

And how does that trust come about? “I think he likes what I do. (laughs) No, I always do my best on the field and I try to work hard for the team.”

With Leicester returning to the Premier League soon?

Faes currently plays with Leicester in the Championship in England. He hopes to play in the Premier League again soon.

“The Premier League is the biggest competition in the world. We have also changed coaches, so we play with a completely different style. That was new for me but I enjoy it. For me the most important thing is to get promoted again as quickly as possible,” he states.

Will we soon see Leicester playing like Manchester City? According to Faes, new coach Enzo Maresca is introducing some new tactics.

“Our new coach (Enzo Maresca ed.) was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City. He is now implementing the same ideas; doing a lot with the ball, aggressive and high on the pitch. I like that, I also learn a lot,” he decides.
