A year ago they were still on stage as Limburg ambassador of the Trends Gazellen, today Coastair Chartering is bankrupt. The air freight service provider has built up too much debt in the growth process to be able to follow the evolution.

Until recently, Coastair Chartering had its headquarters in Tongeren. It concerned a depot, as the activities mainly took place at Liège airport (Bierset). Coastair Chartering was a leading service provider in the air freight industry, offering a range of services to air freight agencies, shippers and airlines.

The company grew extremely fast. Last year it earned them the title of Limburg ambassador to the Trends Gazellen (medium-sized companies). A new headquarters was established in the Liège Logistics business park, and additional offices were opened in Paris and London. A lot of debts were therefore built up with the various partners in Liège, but also in Tongeren, in order to be able to grow further. An external partner was also sought for this purpose. But it was not found. After an attempt to save the company through a WCO, Coastair Chartering was declared bankrupt a few weeks ago by the court in Liège. An unfortunate story, with unfortunately many creditors. The curator will now try to handle the file as neatly as possible.
