Many well-known names were featured in the first episode. It was a happy reunion with Katerine Avgoustakis (Star Academy 2005) and ex-Hooverphonic -singer Luka Cruysberghs . But lesser-sounding names also gave their best.
One of them is 41-year-old Bianca Boets, better known as the sister of Eurovision Song Contest candidate Xandee. Thirty years ago, in 1994, Bianca took part in the ‘Soundmixshow’, presented by Bart Kaell . Bianca won the talent show, but shortly afterwards decided never to sing again.
During the broadcast, Bianca confessed that she was very bullied in her childhood after her appearance in the ‘Soundmixshow’. “It got to the point where I didn’t dare go outside anymore,” admitted a clearly tormented Bianca.
Xandee’s sister said she dared to stand on stage again thirty years later as a tribute to her mother, who died in 2018. “She always thought it was a shame that I stopped singing, so I actually do it for her,” she sounded emotional.
Bianca clearly did not feel like a fish in water. “I felt very uncomfortable on that stage,” she confesses to Het Laatste Nieuws. “I had a strange feeling about my participation. I do not aspire to a second life as a singer.”
