Comedian and actor Russell Brand (48) was baptized in the Thames. He announced this himself via social media. The Briton has been accused of sexual abuse several times and calls the baptism “an opportunity to leave the past behind”.

“It was an incredible, profound experience,” says British actor of his baptism in the Thames. “Baptism gives me the opportunity to die and be reborn,” says the Brit. “It feels like a new source has been turned on within me.”

The comedian is baptized, less than a year after he was repeatedly accused of sexual abuse. For example, Brand was accused by four women of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse, which took place during the heyday of his career, between 2006 and 2013. The accusations were made in September 2023 in an extensive investigation by the newspaper The Sunday Timesand were also part of a documentary in it Channel 4-program Dispatches. However, the Briton has always denied those accusations.
