Christina Applegate wears diapers after contracting Sapovirus: ‘Other people’s poop was in my food’

Christina’s misery all started when she first contracted the coronavirus. The actress, who suffers from multiple sclerosis (MS), and her caregiver both fell ill. Because Christina has a weakened immune system, she feared the worst. “I had a headache and chills,” she says in her podcast. Ultimately, Christina contracted long Covid, which led to a respiratory infection.

Christina then apologizes in advance for the story she is about to tell. The actress shares that she contracted a virus. “Which made me piss my ass for a few days,” she says. “To the point where I really couldn’t… I was so dizzy. I was so sick. I couldn’t eat,” she continues.

Ultimately, the actress had to take a test to find out exactly what was going on. It turned out that she had the Sapovirus. “That’s what you get when you ingest someone else’s poop through your food… Someone else’s poop went into my mouth and I ate it,” Christina explains.

The actress has now been ill with the virus for almost three weeks. She thinks she contracted it when she ordered a salad at a restaurant she frequents. Because she can’t control her bowel movements, Christina now wears diapers. “I once woke up to a poop-covered bed… Changing your bed at night when you have MS is no fun, so I wear diapers.”
