“Men cannot be trusted. They leave. Or they become criminals. They hit, they swear, they kill.”

--

“I have seen from an early age: those men cannot be trusted. They leave. Or they become criminals. They hit, they swear, they have to go to prison, they kill. That image is not going to change soon,” says Miljuschka Witzenhausen, daughter of Astrid Holleeder. “Although I have a brighter picture because I have now seen good examples: my boyfriend, colleagues, my growing son.”

She experienced crazy things as a child, she says in the AD.

“I just saw all the men who belonged to my family, who were friends, being murdered. There were many moments when I thought: see, something is not going well with us. I used to be ridiculed because of where I came from. friends don’t play with me because of their parents. It hurt.”

Other key points from the AD interview:

1. Miljuschka Witzenhausen is a well-known TV chef and presenter who grew up in a difficult environment, with a father who left and an uncle (Willem Holleeder) who was a criminal. Despite these challenges, she has built a successful career.

2. Witzenhausen has a strong bond with her mother Astrid Holleeder, who testified against her brother Willem. Her mother now lives in the shadows, which sometimes makes Witzenhausen feel guilty about her own freedom and success.

3. Witzenhausen has her own family with two children and her husband Philip, with whom she has a close relationship. She raised her children to be independent and headstrong.

4. Witzenhausen has a great passion for food and cooking, which she shares through her social media, cookbooks and TV shows. She has her own supermarket at home and enjoys being able to make something tasty at any time.

5. Despite her success, Witzenhausen has long had an inferiority complex about her appearance, which she is now trying to embrace. She thinks it’s a shame that society is so focused on thinness as an ideal.
