“It was my own idea,” Manon tells HLN about her outfit. “Under the motto: it should not be beautiful, but funny. Rik was also immediately won over by the idea and put me in touch with Mieke, costume chef at ‘Nonkels’. She looked for suitable artificial grass and made a dress out of it. In total it took her 15 hours.” But the dress turns out to be anything but comfortable: “Oh well, sometimes you have to suffer for a good cause. Rik, who had not yet seen the end result, was very enthusiastic. He called me a cute ball of grass.”
Manon herself is also a big fan of ‘Nonkels’, although her favorite character turns out not to be Willy. “Every woman loves a bossy character like Carine, even though I’m not like that at all.” We won’t be seeing Manon himself on screen anytime soon. “I will wisely remain a flight attendant,” she tells us.
