In 1996, Will and Jada Smith co-founded the charity ‘Will And Jada Smith Family Foundation’ to publicly advocate for causes close to their hearts, including arts education and health and wellness efforts. But after the much-discussed ‘Oscar blow’ they only saw their income shrink. In 2022, the total amount of donations amounted to only 365,000 dollars (approximately 337,000 euros), while in previous years the amount even exceeded the 2 million dollar mark (1.8 million euros). “The family will close the organization’s doors soon,” a source told ‘Variety’. The source also confirms that from now on the couple will donate money to some charities with their own income.

The actor punched Oscar presenter Chris Rock in the face. The reason for the whole event was a joke by the American comedian. Rock laughingly referred to Jada’s ‘GI Jane hairstyle’. A sensitive subject for the 50-year-old actress, because Will Smith’s husband has alopecia, an annoying condition that causes her hair to fall out. After the comedian’s inappropriate comment, Smith stormed onto the stage to put the Oscar presenter in his place. Afterwards, he also verbally lashed out at the American comedian in front of everyone present, and the viewers at home. “Shut your fucking mouth about my wife!” he said angrily.
