Just days after a New York court overturned the conviction of 72-year-old Harvey Weinstein for sexual abuse, the former film producer has been hospitalized. Weinstein suffers from high blood pressure, heart problems and a “lot” of other health problems.

In 2020, Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison in New York, but on appeal it was surprisingly ruled on Thursday that the film mogul did not have a fair trial. Because he was sentenced to 16 years in prison in a second trial in Los Angeles last year, he will remain locked up. That trial also involved sexual abuse.
After the appeal ruling, Weinstein was transferred to the well-known prison on Rikers Island, after previously being incarcerated in a prison outside New York City. That transfer would have led to the problems that now have to be monitored by doctors.
A new hearing is scheduled for Wednesday in Manhattan District Court to decide whether or not the New York lawsuit should be retried.
Weinstein has been struggling with his health for a long time. Since he was charged, he has been struggling with heart problems, diabetes, sleep and eye problems.
