Are you looking for a cheap bookstore? Then we recommend that you come to the pop-up at the Retie library on Sunday. Several hundred novels, cookery, youth and children’s books are sold there for a maximum of 1 euro each.
“We receive a significant budget from the municipality every year to purchase new books,” says librarian Brenda Wouters. “This way we can always offer readers in Retie the latest novels and children’s books. However, we do not have infinite space in our library. To keep our collection up to date, we have selected around a thousand older books that are now loaned out less often. We now sell these at a giveaway price: books for adults at 1 euro each, children’s books and magazines at 0.50 euros.”
The crazy sale will take place on Sunday, April 28 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Den Dries community center in Kerkhofstraat in Retie.
Private fitness studio
The municipal library of Retie has moved to the former De Linde banquet hall in Kasteelstraat since November last year. The old lending service, which was housed in a building of the church factory in Nederstraat, has now found a new purpose. Sports and nutrition coach Tobias Maerien from Club Stronger will soon open a new private fitness studio in the building. (ema)
