‘Score a Book!’ great success: NEC players read at primary schools

On Tuesday morning, March 26, the NEC players went to fifteen different primary schools in and around Nijmegen to read from a book. NEC, Gelderland Zuid Library and ROC Nijmegen want to launch the ‘Scoor a Book!’ project. Let children experience how much fun reading is.

During ‘Score a Book!’ 632 students from fifteen schools in the Nijmegen region read as many books as possible in class and at home for nine weeks. During the project, students exchange their favorite books. The kick-off already took place on February 20. On Tuesday morning, Dirk Proper visited De Dukendonck Primary School and after reading aloud, children could ask their questions during a kids press conference. An NEC member also visited other primary schools.

The children have now been challenged again to read even more books in the coming weeks. The more they read, the higher their score. On Wednesday April 17, at the end of the nine-week project, the number of hours read will be presented on the final sports day at Voetbalclub Quick 1888.
