According to British media, “a number of horses” are currently running loose in central London. One of the horses was said to be covered in blood. It is currently unclear what exactly happened.

At least five people were injured on Wednesday after several horses ran loose through central London. These would be animals from the Household Cavalry, part of the British army. The animals bolted during a morning practice session. They threw off their horsemen and entered the city. At least one soldier is said to have been injured after a spooked horse crashed into cars near the Clermont Hotel. That’s what The Telegraph writes.

“We were called today (Wednesday) at 8.25 am (9.25 am Belgian time) with a report of a person who had been thrown from a horse on Buckingham Palace Road,” the London Ambulance Service said in a statement. “Our first ambulance arrived on site within five minutes. The incident is still ongoing and we are working with our emergency services partners.”

It is not entirely clear exactly how many animals are roaming free. Some media talk about two horses, but it could also be five. Two horses have already been captured.
