TV“I can’t believe we have such a beautiful house.” The experts have successfully completed the first challenge of the sixth season of ‘Blind Bought’ – finding a dream home for Mevin and Pieter – but they continue to struggle with the high demands set by Heike and Gert-Jan. They are therefore forced to make a choice.

The dilemma of Heike (27) and Gert-Jan (31) is well known. He absolutely wants to continue living in De Pinte – the second most expensive municipality in East Flanders – and she wants a garden of at least a thousand square meters to keep animals. Something that is not necessary for Gert-Jan, as he is allergic to all kinds of fur. The couple has been together for nine years and initially raised 525,000 euros for that dream home. They definitely don’t want to compromise anything.

They also realize that this makes it very difficult for the experts. And so they contact real estate agent Kinga Kantorska (46) and interior designer Christophe (45) to tell them that they are increasing their budget. The couple still has an extra 85,000 euros left for the perfect property, which brings the total amount to 610,000 euros. The experts are happy with the increase, but Kinga remains realistic. She tells Heike and Gert-Jan again that De Pinte is really an expensive municipality.

One of them

The supply of suitable homes with large gardens appears to be difficult – even with the budget increase. After four months of searching, Kinga still hasn’t found anything. Christophe therefore believes that they should have a conversation with Heike and Gert-Jan, in the hope that the pair will reduce their demands somewhat. Together with host Jani Kazaltzis (45), the ‘Blind bought’ duo goes to De Pinte, where they come to share the bad news. “One of you will have to give up your dream,” says Jani.

For Heike and Gert-Jan that is a cold shower, about which they cannot immediately decide. When Jani contacts them a little later, it turns out that Gert-Jan was able to put aside his demand to live in De Pinte. Kinga and Christophe can therefore increase their search radius, and that – after a long search – ultimately yields results. The couple can get into Jani’s car – blindfolded – to view their new property. “I hope for your sake that it is not too far,” says Heike. “It’s no fun when only one of us gets what he wants.”

Ultimately, Kinga bought a house in the neighboring municipality of Nazareth for 550,000 euros. Christophe therefore still has a renovation budget of 60,000 euros. We will see how the couple reacts to their new home in the next episode. The third participant also makes his appearance with single mother Ingrid (59).

Successful renovation

In Hasselt, kindergarten teachers Mevin (30) and Pieter (29) had been looking for a new home for two years, where they – among other things – have enough storage space for their teaching materials. With the budget of 425,000 euros, Kinga and interior expert Dorien (40) bought a house with a lot of renovation work in the previous episode. Mevin and Pieter – who dream of a cottage-style property – were not entirely enthusiastic on their first visit, but according to Dorien there was no need for that. She assured the couple that she could really turn the purchased dilapidated building into a dream home – and she is fully engaged in that in this episode.

After which, a little later, the moment arrives and the family can move to their new home. Presenter Jani Kazaltzis is excited to unveil ‘the biggest renovation ever’, and that is also the first home that brand new expert Dorien tackled. However, all the stress turned out to be for nothing, because Mevin and Pieter are very happy with their new home. “This is great,” even an emotional Mevin says. “I can’t believe we have such a beautiful house.”
