Prince Gustav – the cousin of former Queen Margrethe II – and Princess Carina of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg have become the happy parents of a daughter. The girl’s name has not yet been released.

It is the second child for Gustav and Carina, who once again chose to use a surrogate mother for their desire to have children. Son Gustav Albrecht was also born with the help of a surrogate mother, on May 26, 2023. He was born about a year after Gustav and Carina tied the knot. Although the two have been together for more than twenty years. According to the will of his grandfather Gustav Albrecht, the lovers were not allowed to marry each other for 19 years. Grandfather Prince Gustav Albrecht made a strict rule that none of his heirs could marry anyone who was not Protestant and not of Aryan descent, and Carina had Swedish-Mexican roots. After the death of Gustav’s grandfather and father Richard, a legal battle ensued over the inheritance between Prince Gustav and his cousin Prince Ludwig-Ferdinand, who felt that Gustav did not meet the conditions due to his relationship with Carina. A judge ruled in Gustav’s favor, allowing him to take control of the family estate and finally marry Carina.
