A day after his Mexican teammate and contemporary Isaac Del Toro, Antonio Morgado also tasted victory in the Tour of Asturias. Del Toro finished third today, he will start the final stage as leader tomorrow.

It has been crystal clear that UAE has won gold with Isaac Del Toro and Antonio Morgado since their first races as professionals. While Del Toro immediately won his second professional race, in the Tour Down Under, Morgado showed great things on the Flemish roads, including a 5th place on his debut in the Tour.

Last week the Portuguese also scored his first professional finish in the Giro della Romagna, and today he has already achieved two.

Not that the opposition in this Tour of Asturias was overwhelmingly strong. The stage to Ribadesella was characterized by a lot of rain and decided in a bunch sprint, which the 20-year-old Portuguese easily arranged.

A day earlier, the 20-year-old Mexican Del Toro had already performed well in the mountain stage to Pola de Lena. He finished more than a minute ahead of teammate Rafal Majka and laid the foundation for what may well be his very first overall victory in a stage race.
