PUTTE – Today, Mayor Adriaansen presented eight residents of Woensdrecht with a Royal Decoration during the General Occasion 2024, also known as the Ribbon Rain. The fifth person who was surprised this day is Adri van Gaal (56) from Putte, at his home.

Mr Adri van Gaal from Putte has been appointed Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau. He has been involved in carnival in Putte since 1980. In the role of builder, participating in Dutch and Belgian parades, as treasurer, as secretary and in preparing the floats for the annual light parade. He has also fulfilled two public roles: in 1984 he was a jester and from 2017 to 2019 he was the Greatest Farmer. He also founded the traffic controllers group Putte in 1999, of which he is still a member. Thanks to these volunteers, road safety at events is guaranteed. He has also been an active member of the Putte Entrepreneurs Association (OVP) for five years and has been involved in the Putte village platform for more than 10 years. In 2015 he founded the volunteer club that is responsible for the maintenance of the grounds and buildings of RKVV Border Guards. He still does this today, with a group that has grown to 15 people. Finally, from 2021 he will be treasurer of the Catholic Association for the Elderly (KBO). He also helps with various activities at this association.
