NRC journalist Stijn Bronzwaer won the De Tegel journalism prize in the Interview category on Monday. He received the prize for his interview with Bunq CEO Ali Niknam. In their report, the jury writes that the interview with Niknam “fits seamlessly into the current spirit of the times.” The interview encourages reflection, the jury continues: “not everything is black and white in this social discussion and this interview reveals that in an intriguing way.”

There were also tiles for, among other things Trouw, De Volkskrant and research platform Investico. The Tegel for foreign journalism went to Michel Driebergen for his reports from Ukraine. De Volkskrant received two Tiles, one in the First Line Reporting category, because of Rob Vreeken’s reports from Israel. The research into NOS Sport’s work culture also won prizes: journalists Abel Bormans, Maud Effting and Willem Feenstra won De Tegel in the News category.

Gep Leeflang van The Stentor received a Tile in the Regional category for research into informing municipal councils behind closed doors. Research platform Investico received the prize in the CBS Data category for their research into incorrectly registered land for agricultural subsidies. BNNVARA also received a Tile for the documentary Inside Caliphate by Sinan Can and Danielle van Lieshout. The Tile in the research category went to director In-Soo Radstake for his documentary India Lost.
