Seen Fallout? You can play Fallout 4 with next-gen update starting today

Fallout is a huge hit on Prime Video, prompting viewers to once again play the computer games on which the post-apocalyptic series is based. Developer Bethesda foresaw this and is launching a major update for Fallout 4 this afternoon, full of new options, costumes and weapons.

Fallout is a science-fiction action series in which the world is completely destroyed by a nuclear war. Lead actress Lucy comes from a Vault deep underground, where small groups of people live in a traditional American way. Once she emerges above ground, she discovers a harsh world full of bandits, mutants and other monsters.

Free update for PC and all game consoles

The series appeared on Prime Video this month and is a hit worldwide. Also among fans of the computer games, which functioned as a blueprint for the series. Fallout 4 is now receiving an update, so that old and new fans can get started with a superior version of the game. The update will be released today, Thursday April 25, expectedly between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. You can download the update for PC, Playstation 4 and 5, and the Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Series S.

Bethesda writes on their website that all versions of Fallout 4 will receive bug fixes and that general stability will be improved. A higher resolution is added to the versions for the newer game consoles. You can also choose between Performance Mode and Quality Mode. The latter mode gives you the highest image quality in exchange for a lower image refresh rate (FPS). Performance Mode reduces image quality and graphical details in exchange for 60 FPS, making the image much smoother while gaming. Handy, because Fallout 4 is full of intense shooting action.

The PC version gets the same next-gen update, plus widescreen and ultra-widescreen support. The Creation Kit will also be improved, which allows Fallout 4 players to create their own content for the game. Fallout 4 will also be available for the first time on the Epic Games Store.
