‘Watch Dogs franchise is dead and buried’

--

Will Ubisoft ever do anything with the Watch Dogs franchise? Not if we hear reports from the well-known leaker j0nathan. The insider claims on Twitter that the franchise is “dead and buried.” And that has a lot to do with Watch Dogs Legion’s lackluster reception.

Leaker j0nathan writes on Twitter that Watch Dogs is dead. He states that the flop of Legion has destroyed any hope for a new project in the franchise. Interestingly, he mentions that there were already ideas for a battle royale game, but that project was also scrapped.

Quite a shame if the news is true, because Watch Dogs 1 and 2 were quite popular games with a lot of sales. Of course, it will depend on Ubisoft whether anything happens with the franchise, because without official confirmation from the publisher, the above information remains a rumor.

Well, if we don’t get any more games for a while, we can still look forward to the movie. There is said to be a Watch Dogs film in the making at the New Regency film house. Sophie Wilde is said to be in negotiations for a role in the film, although none of that has been confirmed.

Would you like to see a new game in the series?
