Joris Hessels launches new podcast ‘Last goodbye’ about BV’s funeral playlist | Ltd

e.gTV maker Joris Hessels (43) wonders which songs can be played at the funeral of eight well-known Flemish people. In the new podcast ‘Last goodbye’, Erik Van Looy, Gloria Monserez and Viktor Verhulst, among others, share their timeless records and look back on life through their musical farewell.

Erik Van Looy is the first guest to kick things off. He reveals that he has always been jealous of Jan Verheyen, is a big fan of Joost Klein and that he even had doubts about going to Malmö. For his farewell celebration he chooses the music of ‘Jaws’, Alice Cooper, Wim Sonneveld, Joost Klein and The Village People. “My whole life is actually a plot twist, especially with the films I have made. Something else happens when you no longer expect it. That coffin is going to come in and with that music they are going to think: he is going to come out,” the presenter explains. “You are always trying to entertain a lot of people and make them feel good, while I would much rather have made the people around me feel even better.”

“I think a lifetime lasts a long time. You understand why someone aged 80-85 has had enough. I get that, it takes a long time. For me it is accompanied by: I am very restless. And the realization is gradually growing that this is not going to go away,” says Van Looy.
