Murderer nurse Veronique (36) stays in jail for two months longer (Knokke-Heist)

Jürgen M. (41) will remain in jail for two months longer on suspicion of murdering Veronique Nobus (36). The Bruges council chamber decided this on Friday morning. The forty-something stabbed his ex-partner in her apartment in Knokke-Heist in December last year and also made confessions.

On December 3 last year, a meeting between Veronique Nobus and her ex-partner Jürgen M. went horribly wrong. The ex-lovers still saw each other occasionally, including that evening at Veronique’s apartment in Knokkestraat in Knokke-Heist.

Earlier that evening, Veronique went to a football match in the Jan Breydel Stadium with a friend. Jürgen M. was also present there and tried to make contact, but without success. A few hours later the pair saw each other again. Fellow residents of the apartment building heard a lot of noise that night. A few hours later it was all hands on deck in the building: traces of blood in the hallway and the presence of many police officers and the presence of the public prosecutor’s office made one suspect the worst. Veronique appeared to have been killed with many stab wounds and Jürgen M. also confessed to the facts. The man, in his forties, has been in prison ever since.
