‘Render shows OnePlus 13’

It will take many months before the OnePlus 13 is available in stores, but a computer-made render has already surfaced. This gives a good idea of what the smartphone may look like. OnePlus appears to be saying goodbye to the round camera island on the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 12.

The image comes from a user on China’s Weibo, a social platform. Take it with a grain of salt because we can’t verify if it’s real. If that is the case, the OnePlus 13 will look quite similar to the OnePlus 10 Pro. At least at the rear. We see a square camera island containing three lenses and a flash. The only difference with the 10 Pro is that the island is not attached to the side, but protrudes loosely from the housing.

It is not clear why OnePlus is returning to this design. Rumors state that the company is once again overhauling the cameras. They should be similar to those of the Oppo X7 Ultra. With this, OnePlus would take a big step forward. That smartphone, unfortunately not coming to the Netherlands, is one of the absolute best in the field of photography.

We already know this about the OnePlus 13

The OnePlus 13 will probably have a 6.8-inch OLED screen again, just like its predecessor. This time the display would be (slightly) curved on four sides. We recently saw this with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. OnePlus would also opt for an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which works faster than the optical variant in the OnePlus 12.

The device will most likely run on a (not yet announced) Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, which ensures very good performance. OnePlus may announce the smartphone for the Chinese market as early as October. In the Netherlands we will probably have to wait until early 2025.
