Ubisoft has provided another update regarding this XDefiant, probably because that was a while ago and recently reports started to surface about further postponements and an unhealthy work environment. As a reminder, XDefiant is the new Call of Duty-like free-to-play 6v6 shooter from Ubisoft that throws together Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and The Division.

In concrete terms, Ubisoft announces that it is currently making the final preparations for a Server Test Session that would last 12 hours and be available worldwide on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. With this new test the aim is to test the servers and collect data that is important to get everything in order in the run-up to the release.

Speaking of that release, a release date for XDefiant has not yet been announced, but Ubisoft says it will likely be able to set a concrete date after the new Server Test Session.

XDefiant should normally have been released in the summer of 2023, but due to some technical problems, the game was not approved by Sony and Microsoft. They then hoped for an October release, but that did not happen either and the release has since been postponed indefinitely.
