WhatsApp allows you to pin more messages so that they remain visible for a long time, as an extension of functionality it introduced in December last year.
WhatsApp allows you to store three messages per chat pins. When you pin those messages, they remain visible for up to 30 days. This is useful in group conversations where important information can sometimes quickly get obscured. The functionality also works in regular chats.
To pin a message, long press it until you select it. Then press the three dots at the top right and click Pin. Pinning works for all types of messages.
More than one message
The functionality appeared after a test phase for the general public in December last year. Back then you could only pin one post. Parent company Meta now decides to expand the possibilities of the useful function a bit. You cannot pin a message permanently, although the option to star messages so you can quickly find them remains.
WhatsApp regularly experiments with new features. Some extend core functionality, such as one-time listenable voice messages. Other features such as innovations around the Updates have more to do with Meta’s urge to turn every app into a Facebook spin-off.
