Club Brugge has (temporarily) stopped the search for a new coach. Nicky Hayen will get every chance to prove himself in the remaining matches.
Club Brugge has been actively looking for a new coach since the dismissal of Ronny Deila. Discussions took place with, among others, Karel Geraerts, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Hein Vanhaezebrouck.
The newspapaer Please know that the active search will be stopped for a while. Nicky Hayen will have the opportunity to further prove herself in the coming weeks.
Club Brugge is competing for the title in the Jupiler Pro League and is in the semi-finals of the Conference League. In that respect, Bart Verhaeghe’s decision is very logical.
Important: this does not mean that Hayen will definitely start working as coach of Club Brugge next season. The interim coach can above all prove that the current results are not flukes.
Will Nicky Hayen also be the coach of Club Brugge next season?
A return to Club NXT is out of the question anyway. Hayen has the ambition to coach at the highest level. Before his arrival to the first team, Club Brugge did not even plan to keep him at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
