A lot of ink has been spilled about Jorthy Mokio in recent weeks and months. The youngster from KAA Gent has not yet signed a contract with the Buffalos and other clubs still want to try to take advantage of this.
While Jorthy Mokio made his professional debut at KAA Gent in recent months, the young central defender and his entourage are said to have asked the Belgian Football Association to deregister him from the club.
In January we already talked about significant interest from RB Leipzig, but Ajax Amsterdam, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and many other clubs have also been mentioned since then. FC Barcelona was recently added to the list.
PSV also has Mokio on its radar
A few days ago, Sacha Tavolieri indicated that the central defender was present at the Barcelona-PSG match. Barça now seems a real option for the 16-year-old player. Ghent could therefore lose its greatest talent without receiving any compensation.
However, it does not stop there, because PSV Eindhoven has also shown clear interest in Mokio. And they too would, according to it Eindhovens Dagblad willing to go to great lengths to convince him.
At the Lampenclub he would in any case have a better chance of being immediately included in the first team, which may be less obvious at Barcelona. That could play a role in Mokio’s possible choice.
