“He only managed to say his name and that he couldn’t breathe.” After a serious motorcycle accident in the center of Aarschot, local resident Kathleen Laermans (47) immediately woke up her daughter Caitlin (21), who recently graduated as a healthcare professional. But while both without hesitation did what was necessary to bring the victim – a father of three children – to safety, bystanders chose to grab their smartphones for a video. “Isn’t it your damn duty to help?” Kathleen sighs.
