The Belgian media groups High Level Communication and L’Éventail, both specialized in luxury magazines, merge. With the West Flemish businessman Christian Dumolin, the merged group also gains a new shareholder.

The new group, which goes by the abbreviation HLCÉ, combines the activities of the two media groups. These include not only niche titles for a wealthy audience, such as L’Éventail, Lobby, Play Golf, Zoute Paper or La Gazette Diplomatique, but also about 40 events and conferences.

The combined group, which has a total of 20 employees, will use this combination of magazines and events on the advertising market as ‘a unique link in the field of high-level communication in Belgium’, it sounds.

The current owners – the businessman François Didisheim for HLC and Jacques Berrebi and Dominique Misson de Saint-Gilles for L’Éventail – also welcome a new shareholder to the table in the merged group. With the West Flemish businessman and financier Christian Dumolin (Koramic), the company gets a well-known head from enterprising Flanders on board.

Dumolin says he sees opportunities to strengthen the presence of the mainly French-speaking media group in Flanders. “I am very pleased to be able to participate in the formation of this new entity, with which HLCE will be able to strengthen its contacts in the Dutch-speaking part of our country,” it said.

It is not known what amounts are involved in the operation.
