The police were able to arrest a suspect on Wednesday evening who shot several times at a thirty-year-old man. That happened on the Bergensesteenweg in the vicinity of the night shop.

The 27-year-old suspect allegedly shot four times at the intersection with Prinsenbos. He fled to an apartment further on the Bergensesteenweg. The injured victim, from Dworp, fled in the direction of the night shop.

According to the Halle-Vilvoorde public prosecutor’s office, a discussion occurred between two men on the Bergensesteenweg during which one of the two shot the other in the legs. The 30-year-old victim from Dworp was taken to hospital while the 27-year-old suspect from Halle was deprived of his liberty. The public prosecutor’s office appointed a medical examiner, a weapons expert and the laboratory. The local police conducted a neighborhood investigation.

Update:

The 30-year-old victim’s life is not in danger. The suspect will be brought before the investigating judge.

Update 2:15 PM

The investigating judge has placed the suspect under arrest.
