Work resumed today at Melis Events in Dessel after last Tuesday’s judicial raid. The investigation is ongoing, but the company’s activities can currently continue as normal.

The police raided the Melis Events company in Dessel on Tuesday. The three managers have been arrested for questioning, in addition to a fourth person who was present in the building. The investigation is said to be related to social fraud allegedly committed by the company.

Mike, Dirk and Werner Melis, managers of Melis Events, told RTV that they were very shocked by the show of force by the police when they raided their company on Tuesday. The three brothers fully cooperate with investigators, but they believe that a similar display of power was not necessary. “These have obviously been eventful hours,” says Dirk Melis. “I was especially impressed by the show of force, because it concerns only administrative obligations.”

In the meantime, they want to reassure their customers and suppliers. The company’s activities continue as usual during the investigation, and today everyone in the company returned to work. “We can reassure our customers, our suppliers, our partners: the investigation has no impact whatsoever on our operational activities and our service,” says Mike Melis. “We have received many expressions of support, also from our employees and our people, so we started working this morning with even more drive to continue our operations.”
