The Spanish police have arrested a Belgian who will still have to serve eight years in prison in our country for cocaine trafficking. He was captured in Tarifa, on his return by ferry from Morocco. A drug criminal from Anderlecht was also arrested there. He faces 15 years in prison.
Spanish media reported on Thursday the arrest of a man of Belgian nationality in the port of Tarifa. According to a ruling by the Antwerp Court of Appeal, the man had to serve eight years in prison in our country. As leader of a criminal organization, he was convicted for the import of 443 kilos of cocaine via the port of Antwerp. The drugs were hidden in a container with pineapples from Costa Rica.
Anderlecht
Also on Wednesday, Spanish media reported the arrest of a man with Belgian nationality in Tarifa. There was an arrest warrant against him for membership of a criminal organization, carrying prohibited weapons and ammunition and drug trafficking in Anderlecht (Brussels). According to the arrest warrant, issued by a Brussels court, it appears that he risks 15 years in prison.
Ferry
The arrests each took place in the port of Tarifa, the southernmost point of Spain, upon the arrival of a ferry from Morocco. The arrested people have been made available to a court in Madrid, which will decide on their extradition to Belgium.
