De Singel ropes in Chinese pianist Yuja Wang and French actress Isabelle Huppert (Antwerp)

The theme of the coming theater season in De Singel is “Echoes of Time”. That is why some notable names are coming, such as the famous French actress Isabelle Huppert, the Chinese pianist Yuja Wang and the Indian sitar player Anoushka Shankar.

The theme “Echoes of Time” refers primarily to classical myths that still appeal to the imagination and are used as a canvas for contemporary interpretations. There is also room for reflection on the future.

There will be a total of two hundred performances in the 2024-2025 season, including 24 that are a premiere for our country. Musically, the program promises a wide range of genres, ranging from classical music to jazz, electro and even hip-hop. Theater fans can look forward to the adaptation of Bérénice by Jean Racine by Isabelle Huppert. In addition, the new work will also Quanta by the Polish director Lukasz Twarkowski can be viewed.

Furthermore, De Singel, together with the Flemish Architecture Institute (VAi), presents a program on the theme of cohabitation and coexistence. For example, the Dogma architects will investigate the possibilities of the city villa as a cooperative housing model.
