The murder and disappearance case of Laura Trappeniers and Marc Olbrechts continues to captivate the entire island.

Spanish investigators have found no traces of a fight in the home of the Flemish couple Laura Trappeniers (66) and Marc Olbrechts (71) on Tenerife. Police are reportedly examining surveillance footage from the neighbors across the street, according to RTL it would show that a car drove away just after midnight.

According to the channel, the couple also had an alarm system that made video recordings. The alarm is said to have gone off around 9:30 p.m. According to the surveillance images of the neighbors across the street RTL show that a man entered their house around 1 a.m. and then left in a car. However, that information has not yet been confirmed. However, the video is said to be of poor quality, making it impossible to recognize the color or make of the vehicle.

It was previously reported that nothing was stolen from their home in Callao Salvaje: their mobile phones, computers and wallets were found there. The police also investigated the property they wanted to rent out and found no traces of violence.

There is currently no trace of Marc Olbrechts himself. The man and his wife Laura Trappeniers were reported missing on Wednesday, April 24. Friends last saw them on Monday, April 22.

Mutilated

Laura Trappeniers was found six days later by a local fisherman, off the coast of Arico – about 50 kilometers away, on the east side of the island. Her body was badly mutilated. The woman was missing both legs and a hand. Someone had tied a yellow plastic bag over her head.

The place where the woman showed up is more than fifty kilometers away from Callao Salvaje, a peaceful village on the south side of Tenerife where Laura and Marc came to live sixteen years ago. They bought a small villa with a swimming pool. Every 2 to 3 months they still came to Belgium to visit family. About five years ago they also bought a second adjacent villa.

Car

Friends and neighbors of the couple previously stated that shortly before her disappearance, Laura had contact with a man of Eastern European origin who wanted to stay in their rental house for a short time. Laura told a friend during yoga that she had a bad feeling about that conversation. The rental would also not have gone ahead.

Acquaintances of Laura and Marc found their Opel Mokka with a Spanish license plate. According to our information, the car was not locked. Clothing, sunglasses and a knife were found inside. The couple’s friends notified the police who came to pick up the car.
