“We are a driven and dynamic team. Mortsel is at a turning point where we strongly believe that it is time for a new policy. We see ourselves as the alternative for those who no longer believe in the traditional, national parties,” says Michiel Tisson, who is putting himself forward as a candidate for mayor.

During the previous annual fair in Mortsel-dorp, the party used the motto You count 104 ideas collected from residents. The program was drawn up on the basis of these proposals and comments.

“We want a transparent Mortsel with a board that is close to the people and that sets priorities for the future together with them. We also want an inclusive Mortsel where attention is paid to all residents regardless of gender, profession, age group or the way they move. The third pillar is a more livable Mortsel where it is pleasant to stay with more room for green spaces and fewer thefts, especially bicycle thefts.”

PRO-Mortsel has divided the three main points into various work points such as a halt to high-rise projects, more rubbish bins and quickly drawing up an inventory of footpaths to be renovated.

“We still have many ideas that can make a difference with small resources, such as converting an empty building on the Statielei into a guarded bicycle parking lot with an integrated bicycle point that can take care of the maintenance of the bicycles. Or if the town hall is ever finished, the Mortsels Heemkundig Museum in it MASKe so that parts of the archive can be exhibited. We want to think about projects that will make Mortsel worth visiting again.” (fisp)
