The Red Devils want to have a good campaign during the European Championship next summer. For a number of players, this will also be an excellent opportunity to put themselves in the spotlight with a view to an attractive transfer. This is the case with Johan Bakayoko, among others.

During his youth training, Bakayoko defended the colors of various Belgian clubs, but he ended up at PSV at the age of 16. Ultimately, Bakayoko made a complete breakthrough with the Eindhoven promises. He was even voted ‘Talent of the Year’ in the Dutch second division.

In the summer of 2022, the wing attacker switched to PSV’s first team. There he was also able to regularly show flashes of his potential. After refusing a lucrative transfer to PSG during the previous winter mercato, Bakayoko made his first selections with the Red Devils a few months later.

Top summer transfer

And this season he completely blossomed at PSV under the wings of new trainer Peter Bosz. Despite the competition in his positions, he started almost everything this season. That already gave him 8 goals and 13 assists. And those good figures will probably get him a top transfer in the near future.

The leader of the Eredivisie is already expected to leave in the summer. PSV is aiming for a serious transfer fee. An amount of 35 million euros with the necessary bonuses seems to be the absolute minimum. But that price tag could still increase dramatically.

English superpowers

So claims TeamTalk that Bakayoko is currently part of a real titanic battle between two superpowers from the wealthy Premier League. More specifically, Manchester City and Liverpool FC would emphatically pull on his sleeve. There does not appear to be a concrete offer for the time being, but that could quickly change as the summer mercato draws closer. PSV hopes to capitalize on the increasing interest to increase the transfer price as high as possible.
