The management of Charleroi airport will reassign two managers accused by staff of bullying. They hope that this measure will avoid the strikes for which the unions announced a strike on Wednesday. The BSCA spokesperson reported this on Friday afternoon, and the unions were told by management on Friday.

These are precautionary measures, the spokesperson explained. These will remain in effect during an internal auditor’s investigation.

Yves Lambot of the Christian employee union CNE believes the decision to suspend the two managers is positive. However, he regretted that the measure is still preventive at this stage and that the case will first go to an internal auditor and then, according to him, to the labor auditor’s office before more final decisions are made.

The strike notice runs until May 15. The management fears that a personnel action would have consequences for the airport, which expects around 500,000 passengers in the next two weeks – the spring holidays start in French-speaking Belgium on Monday.
