No fewer than six airlines will be joining Brussels Airport in the coming months.
These are Singapore Airlines, Juneyao Air, Cyprus Airways, Widerøe, Amelia and Wizz Air. The first connects the Belgian capital with Singapore, while the second connects to Shanghai in China from the same airport. The Norwegian Widerøe will fly twice a week from Bergen from mid-April and the French Amelia will connect Brive-la-Gaillarde, a municipality north of Toulouse, with Brussels Airport. Finally, Wizz Air flies up and down from Budapest (Hungary).
Expansion
In addition to the newcomers, other airlines that already use Brussels Airport are also expanding. Brussels Airlines, however, saw its slot in Billund, Denmark, go up in smoke for the benefit of KLM, but is reintroducing flights to Krakow, Poland and Nairobi, Kenya. Air Arabia is expanding its network from the Belgian capital with a flight to Tetouan and Rabat, both in Morocco. United Airlines is increasing its frequency to New York Newark, while Canadian airlines Air Canada and Air Transat are expanding to destinations in their home countries.
Total offer
This brings the number of destinations from Brussels Airport to North America to 37, namely Newark, Chicago, Washington in the United States and Montreal and Toronto in Canada. In Central America this concerns Punta Cana, Cancun and Montego Bay. In Asia, Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Tokyo, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Dubai are served. Brussels Airlines and Ethopian Airlines also connect Brussels Airport with various cities in Africa.
