UpdateIn the West Flemish Wakken (Dentergem), a brother and sister were found dead this morning in a bungalow in Molenstraat. According to Mayor Koen Degroote (Eendracht), these are two people in their twenties, aged 25 and 26.

LOOK. The brother and sister lived alone in this house.
“The young woman and her brother came to live here a few years ago,” says neighbor Peter Valck (61). “This morning around 10 o’clock – I just came home from the store – two young people suddenly showed up, also a man and a woman. They were in a panic and said something bad must have happened because the woman didn’t show up for work. They then entered the house from the back and I kept my distance.”
Lifeless in bed
According to Peter Valck, the resident was found lifeless in bed. The visitors then walked outside. “They were completely upset, but had already notified the emergency services. They arrived quickly, but all the help came too late.” Police and emergency services also discovered the lifeless body of the brother in the home. According to another neighbor, the 26-year-old resident was said to have been out on Sunday with the woman who arrived at the bungalow in panic on Monday morning together with a friend.
The brother and sister bought the house not so long ago, reportedly together with their mother. However, he died shortly afterwards. In 2022, the dated house was for sale for a while, for 360,000 euros. But the bungalow was not sold, possibly because there is a high-voltage line right above the house.

Psychiatrists are certain that there must have been a special bond between the two. “But you can come up with 100 hypotheses about what exactly happened to them. You cannot speculate about that in the current circumstances. Further research will be needed to provide clarity on this.”
Always friendly
The brother and sister lived alone in the house and did not have much contact with the neighborhood. They were always friendly. The woman first lived there, her brother only recently. Both their parents are deceased. The public prosecutor’s office has made little comment for the time being, but does confirm that two deceased people were found in the home.
