King Charles appeared in a pink tie with dinosaurs on it. He visited the Macmillan Cancer Center at University College Hospital in London on April 30 with Queen Camilla. Immediately, royalty fans looked for a meaning behind his tie.

The famous dinosaur tie has been in the monarch’s wardrobe since last year. He wore it in January 2023 when he went to church in Norfolk. The tie also attracted attention then, because King Charles usually opts for more subdued patterns.

According to the British newspaper ‘Daily Mail’, the tie would be a Christmas present from one of his grandchildren, most likely from dinosaur fanatic Prince Louis. In addition, it is also a nod to a joke that the king shares with his family. Charles uses the initial R after his name to indicate ‘Rex’ – which is Latin for king. “C-Rex wearing his T-Rex tie.”
