Dr. Marieke Ludwig will give a lecture about the women’s heart in the library in Emmeloord on Thursday, May 16.

More women than men die from cardiovascular disease in the Netherlands. This is despite the fact that the complaints that women have are often not recognized as heart complaints. People often think of menopausal complaints, stress or fatigue. In recent years, there has been greater awareness of the risks women face. In addition, more attention has also been paid to female-specific risk factors, such as pre-eclampsia or early menopause.

Cardiologist

On Thursday, May 16 from 7:15 PM to 9:00 PM, Dr. Marieke Ludwig will be a guest in FlevoMeer Library Noordoostpolder. She is a cardiologist and started a cardiology clinic in Bedum in 2020, specifically aimed at the women’s heart: Ludwig Kliniek. This evening she will talk about the ‘woman’s heart’. What does this condition mean, how do you find out and how can you treat it? In addition, the risk factors are discussed and what you can do yourself to prevent cardiovascular disease.

Reservations required

The evening is free to attend, but to be sure of a place, reservations are required. Tickets for the lecture are available at the information desk in the FlevoMeer Library Emmeloord or via the website . Walk-in is from 7 p.m.
