To determine whether there would be chemistry between Anne Hathaway and her future co-stars, the actress had to kiss several boys at one point during an audition. “That’s really the worst way to do it,” she tells ‘V Magazine’. They asked the actress if that didn’t turn her on. “I wondered if there was something wrong with me, I just thought it was disgusting,” he said. Hathaway had to kiss as many as 10 men.

“And I was still so young,” she continues. “Unfortunately, I was also aware of what I would lose if I were difficult. So I just did it and got on with it.” The actress emphasizes that it was not about abuse of power. “It was just a very different time and now we know better.” She also says that it only happened once, other auditions went in a better way. “For example, the actors once had to choose a song that they thought would get their character to dance.” The director then checked whether they could dance well together and if so, it was a match.
