Woman in her sixties with autism may save 100,000 euros: “A birthday card was all I got from her” | Poperinge

--

“That man has autism and is receiving psychiatric guidance. He is in a vulnerable position, which she took advantage of.” A woman was sentenced to 8 months in prison, half of which was suspended, for defrauding a man from Poperinge. She would have made the sixties more than 100,000 euros poorer, but ‘only’ 26,135 euros of that has been proven. It all started when she borrowed some money – which she promised to pay back later through an inheritance. But it went much further than that.
