Niels Destadsbader responds to burned-out loft: “Not my most pleasant period behind me”

Niels Destadsbader responded to Radio 2 about the fire that destroyed his loft a few weeks ago. “We can laugh again,” he said.

“Can you laugh a little again?”, Radio 2 presenter David Van Ooteghem asked Niels Destadsbader on Wednesday afternoon. He was referring to the major fire about three weeks ago that completely destroyed Destadsbader’s apartment in Deerlijk.

Destadsbader is a guest on Radio 2 every Wednesday afternoon to look forward to his TV program I’m requesting it. But he was not present at Radio 2 in the past two weeks due to the serious fire.

“Yes, we can laugh again. But I have not had my most pleasant period,” Destadsbader responded. “But apart from the fact that I have already been sad, I am also very happy that we have come to an agreement. I am also very grateful, because I have received a lot of sweet messages from people. Especially the fact that people let you know in their own way that they are there for you if there is anything they can do. That’s nice.”

Last week, some fans stood at the entrance of the VRT to support the singer/presenter, but Destadsbader ignored the radio. “They were there again this week,” Destadsbader said.
